How can I keep my Clover account secure?
Follow these best practices to keep your Clover information and account secure.
Use two-factor authentication
If you log in to your Web Dashboard to make changes to sensitive account information on a shared computer, you may want to ask for confirmation that it’s really you. Clover allows you to set up two-factor authentication so that we may ask you to enter a security code sent to your phone in addition to your normal login information.
Protect your password
Make sure your password to log in to your Web Dashboard is:
- At least 8 characters
- Use at least one number or special character (e.g. 0-9, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), _, +, -, =, –)
- Use at least one UPPER and one lowercase character
- You cannot reuse a password that you used recently
The password should not be the same password used anywhere else online like your email, bank, or social media accounts. This safeguards your Clover password in the event that one of your other accounts is compromised.

Observe online security measures
A few general guidelines to help you stay safe online:
- Always securely log in: https://www.clover.com/home/login.
- Always look for “https” at the beginning of the URL: This means that data sent between your computer and Clover is encrypted, protecting the integrity and confidentiality. Some browsers may also show a lock icon next to the URL to confirm that it’s secure.
- Turn on browser security alerts: Many browsers have built-in security protection that might be able to warn you if you’re about to visit an unsecured website.
- Block pop-ups and run antivirus software: Install a pop-up blocker or antivirus software from a trustworthy source. Remember to run scans for viruses and malware frequently, and keep your antivirus software up-to-date.
- Think before you click or download anything: Don’t click any links or download any attachments unless you know and trust the source and are expecting that communication.
Report any off-site payment requests and messages
Clover will never ask you to exchange money outside of Clover or send us your password information over email. If someone emails you asking you to pay or accept payment, let us know right away.
Log out
Log out of your account if you’re not using it, especially if you are sharing it with other people. If you forget, you can log out remotely.
